Costume Design and Construction for Public Exhibition

A research project into the history of costume. Each class member was given a time period to research and either a male or female character. We then had to create a character which could be associated with that time period and create a costume to suit them. Choosing a model from within our class we each set out to create a costume from pattern through to finished piece, sourcing materials and fitting the costume as well as creating a picture frame to correspond with the design. A public exhibition was then set up for us to each showcase our work alongside our peers as a living portraiture gallery.
